The $8 million dollar addition and renovation will be done in two phases and it should be finalized by September 2018.
WOODSTOCK - Construction has started on a new addition at the Southside Public school.
Principal Karen Langford tells Heart FM about the work that is currently being done at Southside.
"The addition itself is very large and it is going to have 6 more classrooms, large gym, activity room, large library learning commons for 3 make or space rooms for lot's of technology work, robotics, construction, those kind of things."
The $8 million dollar addition and renovation will be done in two phases and it should be finalized by September 2018.
"The construction will be done in 2 phases, so part way through that timeline, those of us in the main building will move into the new addition and they will update the existing main building and renovate that, so it will be 1 complete new structure when we are done."
When the work is done they will have 15 classrooms for the students and a music room.
