The OPP have been able to turn $500 over to the rightful owner after a Good Samaritan brought it to their attention.
TILLSONBURG - A man is grateful to a good Samaritan after he was able to reclaim a large amount of cash mistakenly left behind.
On Christmas Eve a man discovered the cash left behind in an ATM at the Bank of Montreal in Tillsonburg. After waiting for 30 minutes in hopes of the rightful owner returning, the man who found the cash turned it over to OPP.
A man from Bayham Township was able to reclaim the $500 after identifying the correct amount and time it was left behind. The bank was also able to verify the claim.
Police are still looking for another person who may have lost some American money at the eastbound ONRoute on Christmas Eve.
If anyone may have lost the cash they are asked to contact the Oxford OPP at 519-485-6554 or the OPP at 1-888-310-1122. The owners will be asked to identify the exact amount and time it was lost.
