No Date Forthcoming on Auto Insurance Break

Premier Kathleen Wynne admits she can't put a date on the Liberal government's promise to cut auto insurance premiums by an average of 15%. The Liberals included a promise to cut auto insurance rates in the budget in order to get NDP support, but didn't include any sort of time frame when drivers would see reductions. Speaking at a campaign style event in Brampton today, Wynne said it's a complex issue that can't be resolved overnight and will require negotiations with the insurance industry. She said it's not possible for the government to provide a firm date on when the rate cuts would start or if they could be averaged over several years. New Democrat Jagmeet Singh says without a time frame the Liberal promise is meaningless.
