There will be a stepped- up presence of Oxford OPP and Auxiliary Officers in downtown Ingersoll today. Officers will be talking with business owners and employees about good safety practices. It's part of a 'Boots on the Beat' program that began in Ingersoll in the fall. Its mandate is to deter criminals from targeting local businesses in the area. Information will be also be made available on the Robbery Prevention Program the OPP has in effect.
