Police are executing an aerial search of the waters south of Long Point, after witnesses say a male drifted off shore in a personal flotation device.
NORFOLK COUNTY - A search effort is underway in Lake Erie, just south of Long Point for a male that was seen on a floatation device drifting away from shore.
Police say witnesses saw the male around 5:00 p.m. yesterday on the waters.
A blue and white single person floating device was located in the area, however, OPP can not confirm if the device belongs to the individual they are searching for.
Police are also executing an aerial search of the area. A canvass of residents will continue as well, but has so far not found any missing persons.
The investigation is ongoing, anyone with information should contact OPP.
Update (12:13 p.m.) - OPP have completed their search, but have not found the man that was believed to be on the flotation device. Officers have not heard of any missing persons in the area as well. The investigation is continuing.
