OXFORD COUNTY - A motion dealing with property tax and water/wastewater was passed at Oxford County council yesterday.
Zorra Township Mayor Marcus Ryan brought forward the motion to waive late fees for interim tax revenue from area municipalities and waive the late fees for water/wastewater payments.
The motion was passed, meaning you won't have to pay late fee's if you can't pay those bills right now. This was one of several COVID-19 discussions that happened at the meeting yesterday. Heart FM will be speaking with the Warden Larry Martin early next week to provide a thorough run down of council.
Another item that was decided yesterday was the farm tax ratio. Oxford County council has agreed to lower the farm tax ratio from 0.235 to 0.2117 percent.
