The three Oxford County hospitals will be getting funding from the provincial government.
OXFORD COUNTY - Oxford County hospitals are getting money from the province.
The government is investing $7,300,200 to support operations and reduce wait times. The funds are part of a $1,100,000 investment in the hospital sector as part of the 2026 provincial budget. Woodstock Hospital gets $5,525,000, while Rural Roads Health Services receives $1,775,200. Oxford County MPP Ernie Hardeman says this investment is very important for the hospitals.
"Strong local hospitals are essential to keeping our communities healthy, and this increased investment will help ensure patients in Oxford continue to receive the high-quality care they deserve, closer to home. Our government is making historic investments in health care, and this funding will help our local hospitals meet growing demand, support their dedicated staff, and continue delivering the services families rely on every day."
President and CEO of Woodstock Hospital Perry Lang shares his reaction to the funding.
"We are grateful for this funding announcement and the province’s continued investment in health care. This funding will help Woodstock Hospital continue providing high-quality, people-centred care close to home for Oxford County residents."
Rural Roads Health Services' President and CEO Nadia Facca says how the money will benefit their hospitals.
"Alexandra Hospital, Ingersoll (AHI) and Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital (TDMH), the two sites of Rural Roads Health Services (RRHS), were pleased to receive a 3% increase in base funding for fiscal year 2026-2027 from the Ministry of Health. This increase will help each site address inflationary cost pressures and other wage expenses to ensure the continued delivery of high-quality care for Oxford County residents."
Deputy Premier and Minister of Health Sylvia Jones gives her thoughts about the funding.
"This investment will allow Woodstock Hospital and Rural Roads Health Services to continue delivering the highest standard of care while reducing wait lists and wait times for patients and families, for generations to come."
The province is making the investments into the health-care system to make sure people can connect with the care they need, where and when they need it.
