ONTARIO - The Premier of Ontario is calling on young people to start taking the virus seriously.
Doug Ford says the vast majority of the kids get it but too many aren't taking it seriously.
"You may get through it, but like old guys like myself or your grandparents or whoever may not get through it. That's the thing. So just think of your loved ones, think of your grandparents and I know you all love your parents and you all love your grandparents so just please, please think of them."
Premier Ford was referring to a massive party on the weekend at Western University.
When asked about why the Province isn't using social media to reach young people, Premier Ford says the Province is looking at platforms like Tik Tok to get the message out.
"I believe the vast majority of the kids get it. There's the odd groups that go out there; I heard they broke up a big party over at Western. I'm out there bragging to the world we got the smartest young people, and I believe it, the smartest young people in the world. Bar none. I've visited these colleges and universities, it's incredible what they do and how they learn and the expertise after they finish their college and university degrees. They're our future."
He urges for young people to follow the protocol.
