Revitalization of Lake Lisgar can now enter Phase 3. It involved applying for a community infrastructure fund which was received in the amount of $56,250. That amount had to be matched, and was this past week by Tillsonburg Council. Council hopes that fundraising and public donations will lessen the amount they need to take from their 2013 budget. $10,000 will come from the Lake Lisgar Committee. Committee Member Joan Weston says Phase 3 involves all of the infrastructure improvements, which are a must. "Accessibility improvements have to be done by law, so somehow we have to make Gibson House, which is a historical building, accessible to the public. And we also are very attuned to the environment, so there will be a new parking lot surface put down that will be very eco-friendly," said Weston. The lake also needs new boardwalks and safety netting among other improvements. With the approval from council, the committee can start these improvements right away.
