Ingersoll Mayor Ted Comiskey files to seek a 2nd term
No surprise here: Ingersoll Mayor Ted Comiskey is running again.
Ingersoll's Mayor submitted his nomination papers at Town Hall on Monday.
He tells Heart FM he's always made his intentions clear that he thought more than 4-years is needed to get the job done. "If you go in with an agenda, it's going to take time to complete. We knew that, so it's so surprise, and I'm looking forward to it."
Comiskey says he believes 2-terms is needed to complete the work that's been started in building a stronger staff, and getting Ingersoll's financial house in order.
But at the same time, Comiskey isn't making any election promises. "Promises? No promises. It's continued hard work and to be there for the town and to give the Mayor's position the respect it deserves."
So far, Comiskey doesn't have any challengers, but candidates have until September to file. Click here if you're interested in running.
In the menatime, the search is on for a new CAO, and the community is grappling with high OPP costs. Comiskey talks about these issues in this edition of webchat with the Mayor:
