The 22nd Annual Rotary Club Christmas Parade will be happening this Saturday. This year's theme is Songs of the Christmas Season and will host some favourite Christmas songs.
INGERSOLL - The Rotary Club of Ingersoll will be hosting its 22nd Annual Christmas Parade.
The theme for the event this year will be Songs of the Season, which will be a chance to showcase the float's favourite Christmas tunes.
Co-Chair of the Ingersoll Rotary Christmas Parade John Pettit says he believes the parade should be fun and special like every other year.
"I believe there's a few new floats, were expecting a lot of returning floats but the theme changes each year. This year, it's songs of the Christmas season so we're expecting to see lots of fun song-related floats and carols to get people into the Christmas spirit."
Pettit adds that there will be some new things being added to the parade this year.
"Not a lot has changed we've brought back our stilt walker we've got some costumed characters, they've gone well in the past so nothing to different, we have already started planning for our 25th annual Parade in the next couple of years and try to incorporate a few new special things especially when the theme changes each year so it should be fun."
The parade begins at the corner of Wilson & Mutual Street and will proceed to St. Andrews Street. It'll continue to Thames Street then onto Canterbury Street before going onto Wellington Street. It'll head to Cross Street and enter Harrisfield School where the parade will end. Buses will move people from the school back to the Fire Hall for pickup.
The parade will be this Saturday from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm and is free to attend.
