The feature film sleeping Giant is making it's London premier and the movie has a few ties to Woodstock.
An aspiring actor from the region is looking forward to seeing his feature film hit the local theatres.
15 year old Jackson Martin is one of the stars of the critically acclaimed film Sleeping Giant. His dad is a firefighter in Woodstock and his mom from the Friendly City. Jackson tells Heart FM he is really excited for his friends and family to watch the film.
"Very excited that is finally coming out in theatres for all my friends and family to see, lot's of people have been relating to it, the movie has gotten lot's of press and I'm really glad that part of it is coming from London and Thunder Bay."
Jackson will be doing a Q and A at two showings at the premier on Friday at 6:40 and another one on Saturday at the Cineplex Westmount theatre in London. He plays Adam in the film and the movie is filmed in Thunder Bay. Jackson says this is a great coming of age movie and he can really relate to his character.
"He is a kid who starts going through problems with his family and he is spending his summer at a cottage on Lake Superior in Thunder Bay and he meets these boys that start becoming friends with him but also starts getting him to do things he wouldn't normally want to do, he definitely feels out of place and that he doesn't really fit in with them."
