Police are reminding the public to slow down in school zones after receiving several complaints about people whizzing past the Delhi Secondary School.
DELHI - Norfolk OPP have received several complaints lately about speeders in front of the Delhi Distrit Secondary School.
The speed limit in front of the school on James Street is 40 km/h. Officers have responded to several complaints from local residents about people speeding by.
Norfolk OPP Detachment Commander Joseph Varga says drivers need to realize that they are endangering innocent lives with excessive speed.
"Aggressive driving is one of the "Big Four" causal factors in road fatalities and that the OPP targets as part of its Provincial Traffic Safety Program. The OPP remains committed to enforcing Ontario laws associated with speeding and aggressive driving in an effort to save lives on our roads."
The OPP will be out conducting enforcement and officers will have a zero tolerance approach for any driver that puts innocent pedestrians or other motorists at risk.
