OXFORD COUNTY - The Social Planning Council of Oxford County has announced this years winner of the Social Justice Award.
The honour is going to Giselle Lutfallah. She absolutely meets the award criteria of having a clear impact on the community, ongoing commitment to social justice causes and a trailblazer in matters of diversity, equality and inclusion.
Lutfallah is a leader at the Children's Aid Society but also a leader in the community. Countless parents, caregivers, children and youth across Oxford County have benefited from her professional and volunteer efforts. Lutfallah has volunteered with the Oxford County Community Health Centre, Oxford Situation Table and the United Way. She is also involved with countless programs that have a lasting impact on youth in our community including the Supportive Mothering and Caring Dads programs.
She created, developed, secured funding, implemented and is coordinating the Children’s Aid Society Oxford’s Rapid Response Project.
This project has a mandate of prioritizing children, youth and families trying to cope with a mental health crisis by securing alternate supports for immediate and meaningful assistance. She is extremely passionate about the community she lives in, always working with a view of developing a collaborative approach to building a healthier community for all.
