The Middlesex County OPP arrested and charged a suspect after an investigation spanning two counties.
MIDDLESEX/OXFORD - A stolen vehicle investigation spreads over two counties.
Middlesex County OPP were called on Saturday morning to an address on Melvin Drive in Dorchester for a report of a vehicle entry. An unknown person entered a vehicle, but fled once confronted by the homeowner. A short time later, a homeowner at an address on 21st Line in Zorra saw the same suspect inside a vehicle in their laneway.
A U-Haul truck was observed in the ditch near the residence on 21st Line. The vehicle was confirmed to be stolen out of London. After a lengthy search, a 32-year-old St. Thomas man was arrested and taken to the Middlesex OPP detachment. He is facing three charges, which include Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000, Theft of Motor Vehicle, and Mischief Under $5,000.
He was held in custody for bail.
