Police are looking for a male suspect involved in a short police pursuit yesterday afternoon.
WOODSTOCK - A man remains on the loose after police were alerted to a stolen vehicle in the Woodstock area.
Woodstock Police received a call yesterday afternoon from OnStar that a 2016 Chevrolet Malibu stolen from London was in our area. Officers located the vehicle at the TA Truck Stop and approached the driver. The man fled in the vehicle, leading police on a short 37 second pursuit on the 401 westbound.
Police say shortly after OnStar stopped the vehicle, which the driver then pulled over to the shoulder of the road near the westbound ONroute, before fleeing on foot.
The OPP K9 unit was called in to locate the suspect. As a result of the K9 involvement police had to contain a large area from approximately the 401 to the Karn Road / Dodge Line area. The K9 unit didn't find the man and he still remains at large.
Police describe the driver as:
A white man between 25 - 35 years of age
Wearing sunglasses and a backwards baseball hat
Anyone with information is asked to contact Woodstock Police.
