One was at the Woodstock Hospital and the other four were at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital.
WOODSTOCK/ST. THOMAS - Southwestern Public Health is reporting five new measles exposures and one of them was in Oxford County.
Officials are warning people who were in the emergency department of the Woodstock Hospital from 1:43 p.m. to 5:16 p.m. on Wednesday March 5th. If you were there during that time and you were born in 1970 or later, you should call the health unit at 1-800-922-0096 if you're not up to date on your vaccinations.
The other exposure cases were in the emergency department of St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital on Thursday February 27th from 1:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Saturday March 1st from 10:00 p.m. to 12:15 a.m., Sunday March 2nd from 6:30 p.m. to 10:03 p.m., and Tuesday March 4th from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
It's important to note that measles is highly contagious and it can linger in the air for up to two hours.
