Kelly Gilson, Executive Director for United Way Oxford is excited to boost their back-to-school program.
OXFORD COUNTY - The 2023 Charity of Choice has been announced by the Woodstock Ingersoll Tillsonburg and Area Association of Realtors.
United Way Oxford has been selected as this year's lucky recipient, and will have a team of W-I-T-A-A-R realtors ready to volunteer and raise donations all year round.
Kelly Gilson, Executive Director for United Way Oxford is excited to boost their back-to-school program, which provides youth with the needed school supplies for the school year.
"We know that education opens the doors to possibility, and thanks to the collaborative Supplies4Students program, we can help ensure that all Oxford County children and youth can begin their school year well equipped and ready to learn! Far too many families in our community are struggling to get by, many who have never struggled before. "
The Supplies4Students program has been running since 2016. Last year, the program helped 1,304 students to begin their school year with confidence and a path to success.
WITAAR President Anthony Montanaro explained how organizations can be considered for the Charity of Choice.
"This is the fifth year since our association began selecting a Charity of Choice to help drive our fundraising activities and donations to make them more impactful. This year we had fourteen local charities apply to be our Charity of Choice in 2023. Our Realtors Care Committee accepts these applications and with predetermined criteria, they go through them to identify the charitable organization that WITAAR would like to support for that year."
