The weekend of June 13-14th the Tillsonburg Regional Airport will welcome the public to get up close with a Harvard plane.
TILLSONBURG - The Canadian Harvard Aircraft Association is celebrating their 30th anniversary in style.
They will be at the Tillsonburg Regional Airport on June 13th and 14th showing off their collection of Harvard planes. Public Relations Chair with the Association Terry Scott says they will have something for the whole family. "Of course we will have our Harvards on the ground and in the air with the possibility of some rides, weather permitting. We will also have a lot of activity on the ground with a youth zone where we can challenge the energy of toddlers to teenagers, a tournament zone where we will have some card games with card sharks and board game barracuda's."
Each day will feature our 45-foot long Timeline capturing the history of the organization along with interactive displays, videos, simulators and more. Shop at our CHAA store, tour the facilities, meet the pilots, learn the many areas of involvement with CHAA from operations to restorations, flying, maintenance, and even dive & recovery.
Scott says the Association is group of volunteers in Tillsonburg who are dedicated to fulfilling a mission to acquire, preserve, restore and maintain Harvard planes. He adds they started at the Woodstock Flying Club in 1985 with three members with one plane and now they have a fleet of 8 planes with 6 of them flying along with a Tiger Moth and Yale which is a small version of a Harvard.
Fly-ins start at 9 a.m. during both days and the anniversary festivities will run from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on both days.
