A local Facebook group is looking to inspire change in the Friendly City, through small acts of kindness.
WOODSTOCK - A Canada wide phenomenon has hit Woodstock.
The Change Makers is an online society that looks to inspire change through small acts of kindness.
There's 10 communities participating across the country and with their own Facebook groups. A new challenge will be posted each month, in order to inspire their members to make a difference.
Founder Dan Knight always picks simple tasks and don't cost money.
"We recently did a card drive where we had groups make some cards for Valentine's Day and we delivered them to seniors. It's a little thing that's simple; we got a group of people together and had a card making night in a snow storm and we had them all delivered which was fantastic!"
Those interested in learning more about The Change Makers - Woodstock can visit their Facebook page. They can also check out their Gathering on the Green Fundraiser at Chartwell Oxford Gardens on Saturday March 17th.
Knight says it will be a fun afternoon with a putting green, shuffleboard and crokinole.
"We're just going to have a fun afternoon and raise a bit of money, we're asking for cash donations that day. Just stop by before your St Patty's Day festivities."
Admission is by donation and all of the proceeds will benefit Wish of a Lifetime; an organization that works to make the dreams of seniors come true.
It will take place between 2pm and 4pm.
