WOODSTOCK - The Woodstock Police Service is getting ready for this year's Polar Plunge.
On Wednesday March 8th, be #FreezinForAReason and take the plunge with the WPS.
Whether you are an individual, organization or business, Community Service Officer Shaylyn Jackson is encouraging all Woodstonians to registration.
"If there are people who are interested in taking the plunge, we welcome them to come out. Registration is online. If they don't register online, they can still come out and register at the event the day of."
It's just $30 to take the plunge, and all proceeds go to Special Olympics Canada.
Jackson says that the cause has always been important to the WPS.
"It's a cause we try to support every year through this and the law enforcement torch run. It's something we hold near and dear to our hearts."
This year, the Woodstock Police have a goal of $10,000 they want to raise. Currently they are sitting at $490.
The event is taking place at Fanshawe College Woodstock Campus on March 8th from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
The WPS want to ensure participants they are not doing the plunge in the pond on Fanshawe Campus ground. The WPS have set up a small pool in the parking lot for the event.
