Tough Night

Three of four local teams register losses

A rough night for local junior hockey teams as Woodstock fell 4-1 to Paris. Nathan Innes scored a powerplay goal early in the 1st period to give the Navy Vets a 1-0 lead they held on to into the 2nd period. Paris scored twice in the 2nd period and twice more in the 3rd period to take the win and jump into 1st place ahead of New Hamburg and Ayr in the 3-team battle at the top of the Midwestern league standings

Norwich lost to Burford 5-4 in overtime. Kyle Chaney scored 25 seconds into overtime for the Bulldogs.

Tavistock only managed a goal in their 4-1 loss to New Hamburg. Jordan Ritsma is credited with that goal.

Elsewhere Thamesford beat Mt Brydges 4-3. The Trojans came from behind 3-0 in the third and scored all four of their goals before the end of regulation.
