Extensive flooding and ceiling collapse has forced the closure of the VON Oxford offices in Woodstock
UPDATE: (9:09AM) VON Oxford now confirms the ceiling collapsed at their facility.
VON Oxford, like so many other locations, are dealing with damaging flooding at their building.
Vice-Chair of the Board of Directors, Leslie Farrell says the building is closed and all of their services are cancelled for today. "The staff is working diligently to get operating again. To the best of my knowledge, clients that are directly affected today have been notified. The problem is is that our phone lines are down. At some point today our website will be updated and through the media we will be giving information as to what's going on. So I guess we're just asking people to be patient with us until we get our feet under us today."
VON Oxford staff are now working out of the Sakura House.
Due to the drastic change in weather and a frozen drain, the roof began leaking over the weekend causing extensive flooding and damages to the interior of the building.
Farrell is passing along a huge amount of gratitude to the Woodstock Fire Department. "The fire department came to our rescue and were helping us. If the Fire department wasn't there we probably wouldn't have saved as much as we did because they were moving stuff out for us to get it out of the wet like crazy."
According to Farrell, VON Oxford are hoping to update their website today and will also pass along any new updates through the local media. Keep it tuned to Heart FM as we will pass along any new information once we receive it from VON Oxford.
