The Concert for the Cure is happening this Friday in the newly renovated WCI auditorium.
WOODSTOCK - The Concert for the Cure is coming back to Woodstock.
Woodstock Collegiate Institute's Red Players will be putting on the event. WCI Teacher, Laurie Schultz speaks to the details of the event.
"So, Friday, April 26th at 7:00 p.m. It is free to get in, although we would ask that you donate to Sakura House."
Schultz expects the production to last until 10:00 p.m. and it will take place at the newly renovated auditorium. The new auditorium features raked seating, cushioned chairs, a new lighting and sound system, air conditioning, and a refurbished stage. The renovations still keep the Art Deco character of the original space, which was built in 1939.
Schultz says it is not just current and former students that will be on stage.
"I did want to mention that we have some special guests coming as well. We have the Artistic Movement Dance Studio, and from Theatre Woodstock, the STAGES Senior Company doing a number as well."
The annual concert began back in 2018, in memory of the Red Players' co-founding teacher, Amanda MacDonald. She was a big part in starting the WCI Red Players and the Musical Theatre Program.
Laurie Schultz stopped by the Heart FM studio with some WCI students on Monday April 22nd to chat with Dan and Marcie. You can listen to the full interview below:
