Woodstock Budget Talks Continue

This week's meeting will see three boards present to city council, including the Police Services Board.

WOODSTOCK - A third revenue budget meeting will held at Woodstock City council this week.

Council will review three boards who will be presenting their own budget proposal.

CAO David Creery says the Police Services Board is among the presenters this week.

"On Thursday at the regular council meeting, council will hear from the three boards that are included in the city budgets, that would be the Police Services Board, the Library and the Library Board, Woodstock Library that is, and the Art Gallery Advisory Board. So those will be the three budgets that are under review this Thursday evening."

Council has held two previous revenue budget meetings, reviewing each of the city departments and their budget proposals which were held last week.

The estimated total expenditures for the 2019 revenue budget is $78,887,040.00, which is an increase of $1,861,983.00 from last year's budget.

Creery says this week's meeting will be the last revenue budget meeting before it is approved at a council meeting later this month.

"It completes the cycle of reviewing the entire budget document. So with the end of the Thursday meeting, council will have gone through the entire budget, page by page, once."

Council will approve the final budget on March 21st.
