The Woodstock Public Library will be focusing on science, technology, engineering, and math this March Break.
The Woodstock Public Library will be holding a series of events during the March Break.
The week will kick off with author Vikki VanSickle, who grew up in Woodstock, reading her children's book If I Had a Gryphon and doing a few activities with the kids. VanSickle will be there on Saturday, March 12 from 10:30 a.m. until noon.
The theme this year is "Maker March Break" and will be zeroing in on the S.T.E.M program. S.T.E.M means science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
Some of the events have been filled already but Darlene Pretty, manager of public services for the library, says you can still register for the open events.
"They should come into the library to register. We like people to register and pay their fee at the same time so they'll just need to pop into the library and go back to the children's area and we'll get people signed up," Pretty says.
Some of the events do require a fee but there are also some free activities, like the VanSickle reading.
A complete list of the library's events for the March break can be found online at www.mywpl.ca.
