Zorra Township Hires New Director of Finance

Aaron LeDuc will be the new Director of Finance for Zorra Township once Maureen Simmons retires.

ZORRA TOWNSHIP - The Township of Zorra has hired a new Director of Finance.

Aaron LeDuc comes to the Township after serving as the Manager of Corporate Services with the Long Point Region Conservation Authority. LeDuc also has previous municipal experience with Oxford County and Municipality of South Huron.

He will be responsible for the Township's accounting, purchasing, tax policy, budget and asset management programs.

The Director Finance manages the Township’s annual operating budget of $8.2 million and annual capital budget of $6.2 million. LeDuc is looking forward to the opportunity.

“I am looking forward working closely with Council and Township staff to build on the excellent financial management planning systems already in place. Zorra is a progressive municipality and offers an excellent opportunity for professional growth.”

CAO Don MacLeod says they are excited to bring him into the fold.

“We look forward to having Mr. LeDuc join Zorra in a leadership capacity. He brings to the Director’s position a strong municipal finance background and an excellent fit with the Township’s organizational values and culture. I'm sure he will build on and enhance the prudent financial management that Zorra’s Finance Department has always provided.”

Current Director of Finance, Maureen Simmons is retiring after spending 14 years with the Township. Council and staff wish Maureen a long and happy retirement and thank her for the excellent service provided to the residents of Zorra.
