Election season is certainly in full swing in Ingersoll with 13 in the running for council.
INGERSOLL - Candidates are doing anything and everything in their power to get a seat on Ingersoll Town Council.
Kirk Franklin is just one of the many candidates in the running for a councillor position.
He's been an Ingersoll resident for 30 years and would like to address housing for seniors.
"There are a lot of seniors out there who are moving out of town whether it's to Woodstock, London or Stratford. There's not many housing options for them in town for them to stay in and it has to be affordable too."
Franklin would also like to help stop the proposed dump.
"That's one of the big issues and I am going to fighting that. As an indigenous person too I would like to protect the water and it's not the right location where they want to do this. We're going to fight so it's not going to go there or anywhere else in Oxford County."
Outside of local politics Franklin is also a volunteer firefighter.
