A massive investment in the Cambridge and Woodstock plants is expected to be announced today, jointly by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Premiere Kathleen Wynne.
WOODSTOCK - A major announcement is expected today from Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Premier Kathleen Wynne.
The joint announcement will happen at the Cambridge Toyota plant around 3:30 p.m. With very few details, what has been said, is that the Cambridge and Woodstock plants will see a massive investment with the possibility of a new vehicle being rolled out.
The announcement has been kept rather quiet, and very little information has been released.
Toyota had said that the Cambridge plant will stop making the Corolla some time this year or next. The burning question is what will replace it. There is speculation that a small Lexus crossover vehicle may be coming to the two plants.
Toyota currently employees about 2,400 people in Woodstock.
