WOODSTOCK - Charges have been laid after a dirt bike tried to flee from Woodstock Police.
Officers spotted a bike without rear licence plates at around 3:00 p.m. on Monday, while they were monitoring a school zone close to Woodall Way and Devonshire Ave. They say the bike started swerving on and off the gravel shoulder before it sped away into an oncoming lane of traffic.
It eventually tried to escape into a corn field but officers were able to arrest the driver, who was a 19-year-old from Creditville. They have been charged with dangerous operation, flight from a peace officer, and driving an off-road vehicle without a licence plate.
