An elderly woman walked away with minor injuries after being hit by a pickup truck Monday afternoon. She was crossing the marked sidewalk at Dundas and Vansittart when a GMC pickup turning north on Van Ave. came into contact with her. Acting Sergeant Darcy Campbell says drivers need to prepare for more challenges in the winter time. "Ensuring that their windows are properly cleared of snow and ice, slowing down for the weather conditions obviously, and with excessive amounts of snow, if it's cleared to the side, poses visibility issues with pedestrians or small children in the area as well," said Campbell.
