Free Splash Pad Fun!

Kids in Woodstock will have a free spot to cool down for the month of June.

WOODSTOCK - Woodstock City Council is giving you a great way to beat the heat during the month of June.

For the rest of the month they are going to waive the fees on weekends for the splash pad at the Southside Aquatics Centre. Mayor Trevor Birtch tells Heart FM they are hoping the City will have their new splash pads open in time for the summer.

"We are anticipating the re-opening of the Vansittart Ave splash pad in the next few weeks as well as the grand opening of our newest splash pad at the North East Rec Centre at Cowan Fields."

Birtch says they wanted to provide kids with a place to cool off and get ready for the summer.

"We have had some very nice warm weather in the Friendly City and because of the refurbishment of the Vansittart Ave Splash Pad and the small delay of the newest splash pad, we wanted to provide a place for children to cool off, get ready for summer."
