The Ingersoll Cheese & Agricultural Museum has a new roof thanks to annual funding from the Canada Community-Building Fund.

INGERSOLL - The Ingersoll Cheese & Agricultural Museum has a new roof.

The work was able to get done because of help from the Canada Community-Building Fund, which is an annual amount of money that gets incorporated into the Town's budget. Communications Officer, Emily Riepert, says Town Council decides where the funding goes.

"And the museum upgrades were actually just identified as a really important investment in our community, and especially with the 50th anniversary of the museum coming up in 2027, we are just really excited to get down to business."

Riepert adds why Council decided the Museum was the project to dedicate the funding to.

"With the 50th anniversary coming in 2027, it's really important for us to be able to kind of speed things along so that we're prepared to get the community in and celebrate with us when we make these big changes."

Riepert adds that the roof is just one of the upgrades being made to the Museum, as they want to protect the history and artifacts inside the building. Riepert says the money is able to lessen the burden on the taxpayer.
