Woodstock city councillors approved changes to garbage and recycling collection routes to eliminate day to day inconsistencies.
Some city residents could see a change to their garbage and recycling collection dates starting starting the week of Apirl 7.
City council approved a motion to make changes to the routes on Thursday night because collection crews were finishing Monday's routes early, while struggling to finish the Friday routes on time.
City Engineer Harold de Haan says the revisions became necessary because of growth in Woodstock.
"Because of that, the guys were finishing their shifts later and later throughout the day, which if the afternoon guys were already busy or scheduled to do something else, meant that we had to pay overtime to have these guys finish their routes."
de Haan says not everyone will be affected.
"Luckily enough the switches are fairly innocuous. Two out of the three just effect the A to B for recycling, the one actually effects both the recycling and the garbage day, so it's switching some people from one day to another."
The city will mail notices to affected resdents.
