A Tillsonburg student is taking the initiative to be a leader in her community. Sidney Robertson (in photo on right) is a Grade 12 Glendale student who approached Tillsonburg Council to ask for their support. It's to attend an advanced leadership conference in Maryland this February. Robertson is anxious to see what she can get out of it. "It's a new program that's been introduced by the Hugh O'Brian Leadership Organization, so no ones ever attended the conference before. But the main goal is to create an action plan to bring back a service project to the community," said Robertson. She says there's a lot of pressure when only one person from the community can go, that's why she's bringing along her friend, Mariah Gooding (in photo on left). The girls hope to identify and understand their own leadership strengths and capabilities by the end of the conference.
