The train will roll into the city shortly before 7pm this evening
WOODSTOCK - The CP Holiday Train returns for another year of festive cheer.
The CP Holiday Train is making a stop in Woodstock to bring some Christmas Cheer.
Manager of Communications and Special Events for the City of Woodstock Brad Janssen says the train will arrive tonight toward the west end of Ingersoll Ave and Winniett Street. "We're anticipating hundreds and hundreds of people if the last couple of years have been any indicator. But the CP Holiday Train will be arriving in Woodstock and at 6:40 the show begins featuring Canadian country recording artist Wes Mac and Kira Isabella and they'll be playing until about 7:10."
You will want to arrive with plenty of time - parking will be offsite and plenty of people are expected to come out."They won't be able to park too close because we have to disperse the crowd. As you're well aware pedestrian traffic and vehicular traffic do not mix because it will be dark as well." Janssen says. "We just want everyone to respect the road closures, the barricades. There will be no viewing on the West Side because the stage does face East."
Anyone who wants to come out and see the show is also asked to spread a little Christmas cheer of their own. "All proceeds, monetary and non-perishable food items will be benefiting the Salvation Army, their Christmas food drive obviously. They will have kettles set up, they will be serving hot chocolate," Janssen tells Heart FM. "So we encourage everyone to bring a non-perishable food item, that's what it's all about, so that those less fortunate can enjoy some nice meals around the holiday times as well."
