An all you can eat spaghetti dinner will raise funds to help a local family.
TILLSONBURG - The Copper Mug in Tillsonburg is looking to help a local family in need.
It's going to be hosting a spaghetti dinner fundraiser tomorrow night to help the family of Mark Vanderhaeghe.
Kim Sage, one of the owners of the Copper Mug, says Vanderhaeghe contracted an infection in his arm early last week and he has been in the hospital ever since.
"The recovery time at this point they're looking at is about four to six weeks, so he will be in hospital for four to six weeks and the exact recovery time to get back to his normal everyday life is unclear."
The spaghetti dinner fundraiser runs from 4:00 p.m. to about 7:30 p.m. and all you have to do is tell your server that you're there for it. It's an all you can eat meal and it costs $20 for adults or $10 for kids under 10 years old.
Sage says all of the money raised will be going to Vanderhaeghe's family.
"It's going to Mark to help with his expenses. He does have two daughters and his Mom as well for travel time and anything he needs for his house to keep it going while he is in hospital."
Sage has known the Vanderhaeghe family for years and decided to host the fundraiser after she found out about their situation on Facebook.
The Copper Mug will be hosting another spaghetti dinner fundraiser for the family of Sharon Bartlett next Wednesday. Bartlett is also experiencing health struggles and you can find more information online here.
