The charges include assault, shoplifting, operation while impaired, and two counts of vehicle theft.
NORFOLK COUNTY - A 24-year-old from Brantford is facing a list of charges in Norfolk County.
This all started Monday afternoon when the OPP responded to a report of a stolen pickup truck on Old Highway 24 in Waterford.
It was a blue GMC Sierra from the 2002 model year and that truck was later involved in a rollover crash on Thompson Road East in Townsend. Someone stopped to help and police say the person in the truck tried to steal their vehicle, but they were unsuccessful.
They were later arrested by the OPP and officers determined that this person also stole alcohol from a business in Simcoe beforehand.
The 24-year-old has been charged with assault, assaulting a peace officer, operation while impaired by alcohol and drugs, failure or refusal to comply with demand, operation while prohibited, failure to comply with a probation order, theft under $5,000, two counts of mischief under $5,000, and two counts of motor vehicle theft.
