A familiar face is looking to return to Tillsonburg's political scene.
TILLSONBURG - A former Tillsonburg Deputy Mayor would like to return as the town's Mayor.
Mark Renaud is running with "Tillsonburg One vision" as the slogan of his campaign.
Renaud explains this slogan he has chosen for his running.
"One of the things I'm going to be discussing in our election campaign in Tillsonburg is what's called 'The Tillsonburg One Vision'. No matter who you are, where you came from, if you're new to town, or you've lived in town all your life, or whatever your background, we need to make sure that we have a one Tillsonburg solution for these issues."
He spent eight years as Deputy Mayor and three years as a councillor.
He says the town needs fresh eyes.
"A lot of the problems we have to take some ownership for that we've created and what I'm saying is, I think we need a new set of eyes to look at some of those. I think there's a lot of things that we do well and Oxford County is a great place to live, and Tillsonburg is a great place to live. But there are challenges that need action."
If he's elected in this fall, he would see Oxford County council implement a county-wide transportation system.
Renaud mentioned that affordable housing is an issue throughout Oxford County.
