Ingersoll Mayor Ted Comiskey talks about things opening up, the Ingersoll Strategic Plan and the budget.
INGERSOLL - The Mayor of Ingersoll is excited to see things opening up.
Ted Comiskey says it is great to see people out and about again and is excited to see businesses running at full capacity. Comiskey did say that we still need to be cautious.
"We must watch out for each other, we must care for each other, we must respect each others rights. I really do ask that anyone who has not been vaccinated, to be please do so, and anyone who has been vaccinated but has not gotten the booster, to please get one."
Comiskey says we need to realize that we are all going to get COVID-19 at some point, if we haven't already.
"What the vaccines will do is limit the seriousness of COVID, one way or another we are going to get COVID, even with the normal flu it is always transferred and we all get it from year to year, the vaccine similar to the flu shot is just going to ease the impact on your system and it will save the lives of the elderly hopefully and people with health issues."
Comiskey is excited to see people get out more, full restaurants is looking forward to life getting back to normal hopefully this Spring.
You can listen to the full interview with Comiskey below, where he also talks about the Town of Ingersoll's Strategic Plan, which we will have more in the news tomorrow and the Town of Ingersoll's budget, which will actually see taxes go down for local land owners.
