Budweiser Gardens named "Large Business of the Year"
LONDON -- Global Spectrum Facility Management, the group managers of Budweiser Gardens in London were named that city's "Large Business of the Year" at the city's Business Achievement Awards.
The awards are designed to publicly recognize London businesses which exemplified excellence in 2013.
General Manager of Budweiser Gardens Brian Ohl says his group is appreciative to the people not just from London -- but also the surrounding area who have been supportive of the venue since it opened in October 2002.
"This is a fantastic recognition and tremendous honour for our Global Spectrum team here at Budweiser Gardens," said Ohl, who also serves as Global Spectrum Regional Vice President. "We are grateful for the encouragement and guidance provided by our venue partners; the London Knights, Ovations Food Services, Tourism London, Labatt Breweries, the City of London and Ellis Don. Most of all, we appreciate the people of London and surrounding area that have been supportive of the venue since we opened"
It's Global Spectrum's first major win at the Business Achievement Awards. The success of the facility in London is often called upon by other municipalities that are either looking to build a new facility or are interested in the London model.
Plenty of events have been staged at the retro-facade arena since opening over a decade ago.
Since the fall of 2002, Budweiser Gardens has hosted various concerts, NHL and NBA pre-season games, the 2005 Memorial Cup, NBL-Canada league finals, the Canadian and World Figure Skating Championships, the Scott Tournament of Hearts and the Tim Hortons Brier.
H-R Downloads was selected as the second finalist in the Large Business category with 90 full-time employees. Since 2008, the membership-based, online resource has provided human resources documents and training videos customized to suit a range of clients, based on feedback.
