Space is at a premium at the Oxford County Courthouse. Some renovations being done this year could change the lay of the land inside the historic facility. A "Court Liaison Committee" has been discussing renovations later this year, and talks have been taking place on the utilization of space. Woodstock Police are lobbying for their own working area in the new plans that are under discussion. Chief Rod Freeman says Court Security and officers attending court have a need for their own space. "To interview witnesses and not in a congested hallway and away from other people...people who may be the accused in a court case. Also, it's important that we have private secure space where we might be communicating with other police agencies." There's no timeline for when renovations, or a new reconfiguration will happen.
