As of today, it's going to cost you more to send your mail.
Get ready to dish out some extra cash at the post office.
As of today, March 31st, the price of a postage stamp has increased to 85 cents when bought in bulk, up from 63 cents. And the cost of a single stamp has jumped to $1.
Previously purchased stamps are still going to be accepted and for the 63 cent stamps, Canada Post will have 22 cent stamps that can be purchased to cover the price difference.
In December, it was announced that a new tiered pricing system would be implemented that would see single purchased stamps costing more than booklets or coils of stamps.
Canada Post said the changes were necessary due to decrease in letter mail.
