Southwestern Public Health says those who want to get vaccinated for COVID-19 should have their shots by the end of September.
OXFORD COUNTY - Southwestern Public Health provided an update on the local vaccine rollout this week.
They say we will have everyone who wants to be vaccinated done by the end of September. Manager of the Health Unit's COVID-19 Immunization Task Force Jaime Fletcher says that timeline does not into account more vaccine approvals.
"As more vaccine is approved and certainly as more fridge stable vaccine is available, we do know that will likely assist with more people getting vaccinated."
Fletcher says they are still waiting word from the Province about the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine.
"This is a fluid experience, Public Health is monitoring that closely, we do not at this point, know if AstraZeneca will grace our tables locally here at Southwestern Public Health."
Meanwhile it was announced yesterday that a fourth vaccine could be coming soon. Health Canada is currently looking at the Johnson and Johnson vaccine and it could be approved within the next 7 days.
