WOODSTOCK - The 2026 edition of Handbags for Hospice is fast approaching.
It's one of the largest fundraisers for VON Sakura House and it will be taking over the Oxford Auditorium on Friday February 6th from 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
The disco-themed evening will include live and silent auctions, with over 200 handbags to bid on! This is in addition to refreshments from Charles Dickens Pub, raffle prizes, a wine pull and more.
General Admission tickets cost $100 each. If you're planning on going with a group of friends, you can purchase a table of 10 for $1,000 total.
VIP tickets cost $150 each and they will allow you into the venue at 5:00 p.m. so you have more time to bid on items, buy raffle tickets and more. The VIP guests will also enjoy charcuterie snacks and hear live music.
There were only 14 VIP tickets left as of yesterday morning, and more than 60 percent of the general admission tickets have also sold. The VIP tables are completely sold out.
Fund Development Coordinator Chelsea Stephens Handbags for Hospice is one of their biggest fundraisers, and they have big plans for the proceeds this year.
"Handbags for Hospice raises money for what we do at VON Sakura House, but this year in particular our Fund of Need, which is It was a residential kitchen that was built to be a residential kitchen, but in the time we have been there which is just over 16 years, it has served over 3,000 families! It is starting to show some ware, but it is such an important piece of the home, so that is what our Fund of Need is focused on this year."
Handbags for Hospice has raised over $1.9 million over the past 11 years.
Tickets can be purchased online here. Donations are also needed for the raffle table and wine pull, and you can call Stephens at 519-709-8332 or send an e-mail to oxfordgiving@von.ca for more information.
Chelsea Stephens stopped by the Heart FM studio to chat with Dan and Marcie on Monday December 15th. You can listen to the full interview below:
