Severe winds are expected to develop tomorrow morning, with gusts reaching as high as 80 km/h tomorrow afternoon in Oxford County.
OXFORD COUNTY - Environment Canada has issued a Special Weather Statement for the region, including Oxford County.
They are warning of strong southeasterly winds, followed by strong southwesterly wind gusts on Wednesday. We are expecting wind speeds to reach 70 km/hr on Wednesday morning. Winds will then change to southwesterly early in the afternoon with gusts reaching up to 80 km/h.
The wind storm will ease on Wednesday evening. Strong winds have the potential to toss loose objects, or cause tree branches to break.
These strong winds are the result of a low pressure system moving over Lake Huron and Georgian Bay late Wednesday.
