Beginning in October, it'll be Random Acts of Kindness month in South-West Oxford. Council are encouraging residents to pay it forward, send someone an uplifting note, help out a neighbour or pick up litter in your area.
SOUTH-WEST OXFORD - South-West Oxford Township is known as one of the most beautiful spots in the world according to Mayor David Mayberry.
Now it wants to be known as the kindest.
Council has decided to declare October Random Acts of Kindness month and specifically October 20th as Random Act of Kindness Day. Mayberry says the day is a way to bring people back together that may have drifted apart during the pandemic.
Suggestions include paying forward, sending someone an uplifting note, doing a favour for a neighbour or pick up litter in your area. Other suggestions will be on the Township’s website, which you can find here.
The Township of South West Oxford is a municipality located in Southwestern Ontario, at the southwest side of Oxford County, and serves as a regional center for industry, commerce and recreation.
Although local there is an organization, The Random Acts of Kindness Foundation is based in Britain. Random Act of Kindness Day in the U.S. is supposed to be February 17th. New Zealand celebrates an annual national Random Act of Kindness Day September 1st.
