Woodstock City Council has approved a new, decreased residential tax rate. The rate has been lowered by about 0.74%.
Patrice Hilderley, Director of Administrative Services about the tax rate changes.
"Well basically the tax rate itself residential has gone down about 0.74%. What this represents an increase to the average home of about $33 this year and this includes education, county and the municipal tax rate as well."
The lower tax rate is great news as we head into the vacation season.
The decrease is thanks to a statement of revenue made on April 30th that showed that the decrease could be made.
