The Woodstock Art Gallery will be hosting a graffiti art, print making and chainmail jewelry workshops for teens this week.
WOODSTOCK - The Woodstock Art Gallery is introducing three new one day workshops for teenagers ages 12 to 17.
A graffiti workshop is scheduled for this coming Tuesday and Graffiti Artist Chris Seaton will be coming in to teach the youth about the art form.
Communications Coordinator Erin Beacroft says the workshop will also educate the teens about the consequences of vandalism.
"We'll be having an OPP officer or law enforcement come in to actually speak with them about how vandalism affects everyone with respect to people's property and stuff like that."
Wednesday's workshop will be about print making so the youth will be able apply print screen artwork onto t-shirts. The teens signed up for Thursday's workshop will be able to make their own chainmail jewelry.
Beacroft explains why the gallery decided to introduce these workshops.
"It's really great to have the opportunity in the community to have workshops that are geared more towards the teens where they are not coming in and doing what the younger crowd would be doing."
All of the teen workshops are at capacity.
