TORONTO - Toronto Blue Jays slugger Vladimir Guerrero Jr. will be presented with this year's Tip O'Neill Award.
He will officially accept the award before tonight's game against the Seattle Mariners at Rogers Centre. Guerrero Jr. says this is a huge honour.
“It’s an honour to be honoured in the country I was born in. Thank you to the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame. I hope to win this award again in the future.”
The Tip O'Neill Award is always presented to a Canadian player known for their individual achievements along with their contributions to their team. It's also in memory of Tip O'Neill, a baseball legend from the Friendly City.
The award will be on display at the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum in St. Marys.
